TLDR: I had to delete my original WP account & start over through GoDaddy.
So yesterday I spent all day working on my blog/website through WordPress. Today, I finally called GoDaddy because I was confused on how to merge my domain and now WordPress website especially because I purchased a “Basic Managed WordPress Websites” yesterday & I didn’t want it to be a waste. Long story short, I found out the best way to do it was to “Build new” through my new GoDaddy product & essentially rebuild everything I worked on yesterday. Actually I had to delete that original WordPress account so I could still use all of my “That Kelly Doll” stuff. Confusing, I know. The good news is, it’s set up similar enough to where some of the stuff I learned yesterday building the WordPress site is still valuable & different enough that I’ve already found a better layout for my website! Right now its under a temporary domain until I’ve completed it, then it will get transferred to my thatkellydoll.com domain! I’m super excited & I hope I’m actually doing it right this time!
TLDR: Blogging isn’t as easy as I thought.
I have my current website through GoDaddy but now I’m trying to figure how to mush the two together. I just purchased something on Godaddy that I thought would do that but it doesn’t work. Meanwhile I’m still trying to understand how to use WordPress and when they finally do merge which website builder am I using? Just the WordPress I would hope so I could cancel the other. If I move everything over to WordPress will I lose my work email now? How do I keep that open? I guess I have to move everything over to Godaddy then? But then do I have to pay extra on WordPress too? Who knew it would be this complicated?
TLDR: I’m starting an official blog where I plan to provide useful content covering topics including living in Long Beach, cocktail serving, acting, modeling, DIYS, food, and many other adventures!
I’ve decided to finally start an official blog addressing all of my adventures including living in Long Beach and working as a cocktail server/model/actress!
Eventually I’d like this blog to generate some cash flow as well and I might make posts (if anyone is interested) about how that works (if/when I figure that out). However, I’m not going to have a bunch of run-around content where I repeat stupid stuff and try to make you sign up for a bunch of emails or pay for some web course because that’s really annoying to me.
At the top of every post I’m going to include the “TLDR” version so you can skip reading all the juicy details and get right to the point if you’d like.
In my blog I’m also going to cover things like reviews for local business because I’m very much into shopping/eating and shopping local at that. I’m in a transitional period where I’m looking to move towards a plant-based diet and using DIY products so I know exactly what is going into them. I’m sure that’ll pop up here as well.
I’m pretty excited about this new adventure-I hope that the content I provide holds value for someone out there! Please feel free to give me feedback/ask questions & refer me to other blogs that I might be interested in too! I’d love to learn more about sustainable living, spirituality, gardening… the list goes on on!
Catch ya next time!
